The scrollback buffer is not changed in any way -- the lines are still there, and can still be viewed by scrolling backwards. You can reverse a [[clear]] with the [[unclear]] command. This is the same operation as [[clear]] with no options. You can clear multiple windows at a time with [[clear]]. You can reverse this operation with [[window unclear]].
